Toddler 3D Art

For quite some time now
I've been wanting to make
a different kind of art with my little ones,
something different than painting and crayons
so I came up with the idea of 3D Art

For this I took a sheet of construction paper
(their choice of color)
and tape a piece of contact paper to it
(by the corners)
leaving the sticky side up
I peel the contact paper
right before I set it on the table for the kids
and in the middle of the table
I have different craft materials
for the kids to grab and place on the contact paper

Ta Da!!!  3D Art

Simple and adorable

and They love it too!

Enjoy!

Letter M

Hello, for the letter M this week

we did Marbolized Mm

the idea was taken from

who does an awesome job with giving you

details and the science of the marbolizing in her blog :)

We started by using this M worksheet

Or here is another option :)

We used one cup for each color and put in each cup

1 tbsp of cooking oil
1 tsp of food coloring
mixed really good with a fork

Then have a cookie sheet ready

with a little water, enough to cover the bottom only

I have a really old one for all my crafty things

so I covered it with aluminum foil

to see how the colors swirl

You can use a dropper or just a little spoon

like we did here

and carefully place a little bit of color

one at the time

at the beginning they will look like drops only

but here is the fun for the little ones

show your child how to draw

swirls, curls, doodles

in the water with a fork

mixing the paint into the water

for different patterns

here is one of the patterns that we did

mostly pink since that's my daughter's favorite color
You can see the finished project
at the beginning of this post
using the letter Mm worksheet
Enjoy!

Guitar Hero Creative Art

This I just had to share! It was sooo cute I couldn't hold myself :)

My older daughter Jennifer who is 14 (picture on the right of my blog) just got a (used)PS2 from her cousin, so she bought the Guitar Hero game and guitar for herself.

But Jessica wanted one on her own of course :)....

So she took matters in her own hands...

nobody told her to do this, it was a complete surprise for all of us,

she created one for herself...

Isn't this cute lol :)

here she is "playing" guitar hero with her sister

and this is just a close up,

she even put the colors that her sister's guitar has

on hers

amazing!

You defenetly have to love kids! :)

An artsy weekend

This weekend was mostly and outdoors and artsy one
Jessica was experimenting with colors
mixing different colors to see what colors she would come up with
like red and yellow makes orange
blue and yellow makes green, etc

and at the same time she wanted to write her ABC's

We also experimented a little bit with potato prints

The Stocking

Is the craft we decided to make after reading
A Visit from St. Nicholas and Santa Mouse Too!
We got the template and the idea from
Jessica loved cutting the construction paper in little squares,
as well as gluing them on the stocking.
